Agyness Deyn, much lauded cycle chic guru and supermodel from Manchester has been in the papers again. Since her move from Primrose Hill, London to NYC to be with fiance Albert Hammond Jnr, guitarist for The Strokes, she's been snapped many times out and about on her 'Amsterdam Electra' Dutch bike. Last week she was caught shopping for lingerie in SoHo. Despite her East London grunge chic she truly is a beautiful girl, no question, and one with an adorably quirky sense of style. Audrey Hepburn’s enduring cycle chic

Audrey Hepburn to this day is a beauty and fashion icon. She has often been called one of the most beautiful women of all time. The queen of style was often snapped on a bicycle whether on a film set or taking her pooch out for a spin. These pictures are a perfect example of how with the right outfit (and admittedly an extraordinarily pretty face in Audrey's case) a bicycle can accentuate femininity. Obama Euro Fever & Spokecard Campaign

Barack Obama, the world's most recognisable phenomenon, was in London yesterday shaking hands with Gordon Brown and David Cameron. By 11am hundreds of fans stood around the corner from Downing Street, cameras and phones held high. There were banners: 'Mr B Obama you are a ray of hope 4 billions of young men and women around the globe'. There were real tears, crying, logos, slogans and hope - all very strange in Britain of course.
The man has also gathered the support of the fixed wheel community it seems with a slew of pro-Obama spokecards going viral via Flickr et al. The cards are part of 'Obey' street artist and guerrilla marketer Shepard Fairey's Obama Propaganda Campaign. Obama himself has been snapped on two wheels many times before, most recently last month riding his bike to a friend's house in Chicago before going on a beachside ride.
Right now he's flying home after his whirlwind rock-staresque European Tour, very possibly listening to Leonard Cohen, with his wickedly easy smile. "First we take Manhattan. Then we take Berlin."

Agyness Deyn on a Dutch “sit up & beg”

It girl and model Agyness Deyn sported a very sexy, vintage Electra bicycle at the New York Fashion Week. She was spotted pedalling furiously between her Fashion Week appointments.
“Agencies always want to send big fat cars to pick me up for appointments, but if it’s in London or New York, I’d much rather just cycle there on my bike. I like my bikes, but people think I’m, like, eccentric for insisting on pedalling to work. But millions of people do that every day, don’t they?”
"I don't know how many miles I'm clocking up, but it's a lot," she said. Did anyone spot Agyness peddling her biker chic at London Fashion Week?

Jessica Simpson’s Messenger Chic

For the film Blonde Ambition, Jessica Simpson stars as a woman working her way up the corporate ladder, while finding love and battling helmet hair along the way. Hopefully, she'll also learn how to sling that messenger bag over her back instead of letting it dangle in front like that. I think the kneepads, pink legwarmers and multicolored document tubes rule though!
Her role smacks of Kevin Bacon's "Jack Casey" in Quicksilver (1986) in which he playes a stockbroker who lost everything and then found love as a bike messenger. It's a must see 80s flick with plenty of kitsch and bravado - hilarious but still kinda cool. Soon to be rereleased on DVD I think.
Brangelina & brood on bikes

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie take the kids for a bike ride in the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana (December 2007). The couple started off down their street when the chain on Angelina's bike broke and her assistant had to come to her rescue to repair the bike and then help her to get started again. Brad just chuckled about the incident.
