About . . . .

Urban Cycle Chic is a blog encouraging stylish, affordable bike culture and webstore with credit crunch beating 'Buy it Now' items carefully selected from Ebay. It was started in July 2008 by Finn Nesbitt, based in Hackney, East London, a borough with a flourishing sense of cycle chic.

The ethos is that the city is an arena bike and rider thrive in and how urban cycling is about leading a more active, spontaneous lifestyle despite spiralling congestion and fuel prices. It's less about lycra and more about jumping on a bike in whatever you're wearing and getting around the urban landscape with style. Indeed, I want to highlight how fashionable urban cycling is becoming - a catwalk on wheels.

There are many different bike fashion tribes emerging, from the fixie hipsters to the billowing Pashley brigade. The site aims to document these movements in London and other cities.

I'd love to get other people involved, to add photos, videos, write articles and edit parts of the site, take care of women's product selection in the boutique for example. In the event of the site making any money I'd be happy to split revenues with major contributors. It's early days but site stats are encouraging, its an issue very much on the agenda as you probably realise already.

Please take a look at the site and contact me if you fancy getting involved.

Finn Nesbitt
